How it is calculated

Power draw (kW) ≈ cooling output (BTU per hour) ÷ efficiency rating (SEER) ÷ 1,000. Energy = draw × hours × days. The efficiency rating is on the product’s energy label; higher is cheaper to run.

Results are estimates for planning, not bills or professional advice. For generator hookups use a changeover switch installed by a qualified electrician.
